Kayla Dame is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator from Boston, Massachusetts. She achieved her Bachelor in Fine Arts Dance Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst focusing on commercial and performance in dance. At full length, she taught dance classes and directed departmental and club performance pieces. Within the past year, she completed her first year on faculty with the College of the Fenway performing arts program as a hip-hop and jazz educator and choreographer. This fall, she will be returning this fall teaching hip hop and heels. She has taught dance in North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Rhode Island for either dance camp or studio intensives. In addition, she was also a dance specialist at two elementary schools in Cambridge Massachusetts. She has completed work from both Tony Williams Dance Center (TWDC) and OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center, as a dance faculty member, and with Anthony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker as both a rehearsal director and dancer. Dame also performed and collaborated alongside musical artists such as Aliyah’s Interlude, Luke Bar$ and Alcina Tran. This summer she debuted her own dance company, Dynasty Dame Dance Company where the company performed at SOS 617 and Raw Providence. Towards the end of the summer, she was hired as a dance teacher at Boston Renaissance Charter Public School. Overall, Kayla enjoys all areas of dancing in regards of educating, choreographing, and performing works in various genres. No matter what age she works with, she enjoys watching everyone’s passion for dance blossom!
