Isabelle Doh is a first-generation Haitian/Ivorian-American, dancer, mother, and devoted advocate of the Boston dance community. She has had a lifelong love affair with dance that was realized both through her own family’s cultural roots and her formal dance studio training through childhood and young adulthood in Somerville, Mass. Isabelle started her dance training at 8 with jazz, tumbling, hip hop, tap, & ballet and continued training through her early adulthood until she had a daughter of her own and switched hats to “involved dance mom” at her childhood studio. In her youth, she created and led dance teams that focused on bringing different styles of dance and experience into accessible spaces for people that couldn’t afford the traditional studio education. She has since maintained a consistent place in the Boston dance community both as a dancer, model and supporting backstage roles in productions with City Ballet Boston, Mary Flynn Murphy Dance Studio, Center Stage Dance Studio, Boston krump events and currently teaches Creative Dance, Ballet/Tap, at Tony Williams Dance Center and Hip Hop at Studio 28.

The many styles of dance that speak to Isabelle include Hip Hop, a plethora of African dance styles (especially West African, both traditional & modern), Haitian Folk Dance, Hip Hop, Step, Dancehall, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and various Latin styles. Along with sharing her dance knowledge, she is a performance coach and works to pull out the fire in every dancer and actor she’s worked with. Isabelle offers one-on-one and performance workshops during summer and around competition/recital season. Her workshops focus on stage presence, execution, confidence building, storytelling through expression, putting your best foot forward with body positivity in mind.

In addition to her ongoing career in dance, Isabelle has forged a career in the Biotech industry as a Lab Manager in several labs, helping to define and organize protocol, staffing, and efficiency in a fast-paced work setting. With a natural disposition towards helping others and genuinely enjoying the company of young children, Isabelle pairs these qualities with her skills, technique and style to create a positive classroom atmosphere full of joy, inspiration, and transferable knowledge. She is thrilled to bring her valuable and contagious energy to the classroom as an instructor and performance coach.
